Salted Butterscotch Sauce with Bourbon

  • 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3 Tbs. unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup whipping cream
  • 1-1/2 tsp. bourbon
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt


Combine sugar, butter and cream in a small heavy saucepan and stir over medium low heat until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted. Continue to stir until the mixture comes to a foaming boil. Cook at a boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the bourbon and salt.

Makes about 1 cup.
